Thanks! Maybe another story-- I do like the idea that the villains are vaguely after GoldBug's legs (or his "kick" somehow) rather than just a bag of cash in a vault. So he sort of lures them in since they can't resist the attraction of all that "gold"(?), only to get beaten up as their reward. But I imagine they'd still be thinking of the "gold" even as they get pummeled, like Krazy still in love w/ Ignatz even as he/she gets beaned by the brick.
